The Portable Long Service Authority (the Authority) is a self-funded statutory body established to administer the Long Service Benefits Portability Act 2018. The Act, together with the Long Service Benefits Portability Regulations 2020 provide a Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme. The Authority plays an important role in allowing workers in the community services, contract cleaning and security industries to build up long service benefits based on time in their industry rather than with a single employer. About the role
The Authority is seeking a Legal Support Officer to support a broad range of legal and regulatory matters within its growing team.
Reporting to the Senior Lawyer, the Legal Support Officer is an integral part of the Authority's Legal team, providing administrative and practical support across a range of areas. The Legal Support Officer will undertake a range of high-level administrative tasks as well as support all members within the Legal team, including the Managing Principal Lawyer.
The Legal Support Officer is based in Bendigo and supports a hybrid Legal team based across the Authority's Bendigo and Melbourne offices. The Authority's Legal team provide advice on a range of areas including administrative law, criminal law, employment law and modern award coverage, legal procedure, and statutory interpretation.
