About the Role
Reporting to the General Counsel, the Legal Operations Manager will lead and manage the day-to-day operations of CFA's Legal Services team, enabling the efficient and effective delivery of legal advice and services across the organisation.
You will play a key role in streamlining workflows, managing legal intake and matter allocation, overseeing external legal providers and driving continuous improvement across legal operations. The role will also contribute to business planning, reporting, financial oversight and the implementation of systems, processes and tools that enhance the team's service delivery.
This position provides an opportunity to shape how the Legal Services team operates by improving processes, supporting capability development and ensuring the right systems, reporting and governance are in place so that CFA's lawyers can focus on delivering high-value legal advice.
A detailed position description is attached.
About You
You have strong experience in operations or practice management and are skilled at developing and implementing business practices that improve efficiency and service delivery. Experience working within a law firm or an in-house legal team, particularly in a legal operations or practice management role, will be highly regarded.
You are practical and solutions-focused, with sound judgement, strong project management capability and the ability to progress initiatives through to completion. You are comfortable working collaboratively with lawyers and stakeholders to identify issues, design practical solutions and implement improvements that respond to organisational needs.
With highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, you build trusted relationships and can influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels. You bring strong analytical capability, commercial awareness and the professionalism required to manage confidential, sensitive and high-risk matters with discretion.
Tertiary qualifications in Business Administration, Finance, Legal or a related discipline or equivalent experience in a similar role within a large and complex organisation is also required.
