About the position
The Legal Counsel provides professional legal advice and support to Parks Victoria to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and organisational policies. This role assists in reviewing and negotiating contracts, supporting commercial transactions, providing guidance on operational, legislative and regulatory matters, and contributing to the management of legal risk.
The role works collaboratively with business teams to deliver timely, practical, and clear legal advice that enables operational decision-making while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The Legal Counsel contributes to the development and implementation of legal frameworks, policies, and guidance materials to support Parks Victoria's operations.

About the Corporate Services Division
The Corporate Services Division leads the delivery of key enabling functions to support the place-based management and operations in parks, reserves and designated waterways within Parks Victoria's diverse estate. The Division brings together organisational centres of expertise in the delivery of best practice corporate functions that work collectively in providing specialist advice; simple and fit for purpose policies, procedures and business systems; and hands-on support that act as guardrails for Parks Victoria to efficiently and effectively deliver on-ground services in compliance with whole of government and legal requirements.
