The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Learning Support Specialist to provide a critical role within Community Operations and Parole.
About the Business Unit
Justice Services is responsible for the direction, management and operation of Victoria's Community Correctional Services (CCS) across more than 35 locations. It ensures individuals are safely managed in the community and aims to rehabilitate individuals by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.
Community Operations and Parole is responsible for providing central end-to-end oversight of the CCS service system and includes System Integrity and Workforce Capability (SIWC), Practice Development and Review Branch, Court Assessment and Prosecutions Services Central Unit, Statewide Community Work and Partnerships and Parole Central Unit. Community Operations and Parole also includes and the Adult Parole Board (the Board) Secretariat, which provides operational and administrative support to ensure the Board can perform its functions.
SIWC is responsible for providing best practice interventions which aim to reduce the risk of reoffending including quality assurance systems for risk assessment and case management. It is also responsible for the delivery of high-quality learning and development programs to build and maintain the capability of the CCS workforce to contribute to high quality practice.
About the Role
The Learning Support Specialist works collaboratively with the Workforce Capability Learning Specialists and key stakeholders to provide effective workforce capability programs and resources to support staff to work safely and effectively. The primary function of this position is to facilitate and coordinate the delivery of Workforce Capability programs for practitioners in operational positions, drawing on best practice principles.
