The Learning Specialist ¿ STEAM and Innovation provides strategic leadership for the Buckley Park College STEAM Academy as the College's flagship innovation program. Working in partnership with the Assistant Principal, the Learning Specialist ensures the Academy delivers outstanding learning experiences while acting as a catalyst for innovation that strengthens teaching, learning and continuous improvement across the College.
The role leads the design, trial, evaluation and scaling of innovative practices that enhance student learning and teacher practice. By using the STEAM Academy as a laboratory for educational innovation, the Learning Specialist supports the College to identify effective approaches, evaluate their impact and embed successful practice more broadly.
The Learning Specialist models exemplary classroom practice and builds the capability of colleagues through coaching, professional learning and collaborative inquiry, ensuring innovation is purposeful, evidence-informed and aligned with the College Strategic Plan.
The Learning Specialist contributes to the successful implementation of the College Strategic Plan by:
Positioning the STEAM Academy as the College's flagship program for innovation and future-focused learning.
Leading the design, trial and evaluation of innovative approaches that improve teaching and learning.
Building staff capability in the effective use of emerging technologies, artificial intelligence and evidence-informed practice.
Strengthening systems for collecting, analysing and using evidence to improve instructional practice.
Developing sustainable partnerships with industry, tertiary providers and the broader community.
Contributing to a culture of curiosity, disciplined innovation and continuous improvement.

Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.
