The Learning Specialist (Curriculum) will be a highly skilled classroom practitioner who continues to spend the majority of their time in the classroom delivering high-quality teaching and learning to newly arrived EAL learners. The Learning Specialist (Curriculum) will work collaboratively with learning specialists at the school to improve the skill, knowledge and performance of teachers and thereby improve learning outcomes for all students.
The Principal Class will be consulted on all matters relating to these positions.
The Learning Specialist (Curriculum) will have a range of responsibilities related to their expertise in EAL curriculum design, development, implementation, evaluation and planning. They will ensure that the FISO 2.0, AIP and SSP are central to curriculum discussions and inform decision-making.
Assessment of student learning will be core to the work of the Leading Teacher (Curriculum) and they will work collaboratively with Learning Specialists in the pursuit of consistent, high quality assessment practices across the school.
The Learning Specialist (Curriculum) will lead and model the implementation of whole school improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery. They will identify and address professional learning needs of teachers in relation to any and all aspects of curriculum.
