Frankston East Primary School Overview
Established in 1952, Frankston East Primary School is nestled in Ashleigh Avenue, Frankston, in a residential area with a small shopping centre nearby. Our current enrolment stands at 155 students, the majority of whom come from the local community.
School Ethos:
At Frankston East Primary School, we cultivate a positive, growth-focused environment where excellence is celebrated and every child is encouraged to reach their fullest potential. We foster a sense of belonging and well-being, where the child is at the heart of everything we do. Our students take ownership of their learning in a supportive and secure environment that nurtures both academic and personal growth.
Facilities:
Our school is proud to offer eight well-maintained buildings, including permanent classrooms, an art room, a library, a music room, a science room, and a school hall. Set on spacious grounds, the school features a variety of playing areas, two basketball courts, cricket nets, quiet spaces, and a large oval. The school community takes great pride in the beauty of our grounds, collaborating to maintain and enhance these areas to create an inviting space for learning and play.
Curriculum Program:
We offer a diverse and dynamic curriculum with well-developed programs across the eight Key Learning Areas. Our music program is particularly cherished by students, parents, and staff, and is a strong example of our commitment to fostering creativity and passion in our students. The annual Frankston East Student Theatre (FEAST) production at the George Jenkins Theatre highlights the power of teamwork and student engagement, while our Carols Night brings the school community together to celebrate the season. We offer specialist classes in Art, Auslan, Music, Physical Education, and Science. Our well-equipped Science Centre is a hub of curiosity and discovery for students. To support the growth of all students, we provide a range of enrichment opportunities such as Camps, Water Safety, Swimming, and both intra- and inter-school sports.
Frankston East Primary School is an integral part of the Central Peninsula Network, working closely with Ballam Park Primary School, Karingal Primary School, Karingal Heights Primary School, and McClelland College to foster collaboration and shared learning experiences.
Student Welfare:
We believe in the power of kindness, respect, and positive relationships, and our school community actively promotes these values to maintain harmonious student interactions. Our dedicated staff are committed to continuous improvement, engaging in professional development that ensures a nurturing environment for both students and teachers. The Welfare Team, consisting of the Principal, Assistant Principal, and the relevant Classroom Teacher, provides essential support for any concerns that arise. Positive Behaviour Supports are incorporated to encourage proactive and positive solutions, fostering an environment where students thrive. We keep parents fully informed about any changes and progress in this area, and all welfare-related concerns are first directed through the Assistant Principal to ensure consistency and clarity in procedures.
Parent Involvement:
Our School Council and Parents and Friends Association are dynamic and enthusiastic, with parents actively contributing to the growth and success of our school. Their efforts are instrumental in organizing events, raising funds, and creating opportunities for increased involvement and engagement.
