Leading Teachers are an integral part of the School Leadership Team at Reservoir High School. They are proactive in achieving the school¿s goals and targets as set out in the Strategic Plan and Annual Implementation Plan. They are expected to build the capacity of their staff to achieve the school improvement initiatives. Leading Teachers are exemplary models in teaching and learning, committed to their own professional growth and work with the Principal Team to build a positive culture of learning and improvement across the school.
Together with other key leaders, the Disability Inclusion and Learning Interventions Leader will work towards whole school improvement in teaching and learning and will be responsible for leading improved responsive teaching practice across the school. They will develop and implement curriculum programs and teaching strategies to provide optimum conditions for student learning, achievement, inclusion and engagement.
The Disability Inclusion Leading Teacher plays a pivotal role in driving Reservoir High School¿s transition to the Disability Inclusion model. This role ensures that all students with disabilities and additional needs are supported through evidence-based practices, targeted resourcing, and a culture of high expectations. The position requires strong leadership, collaboration, and expertise in inclusive education to build staff capacity and improve outcomes for students.
Within this framework, the role of the Disability Inclusion and Learning Interventions Leader ouse Leader House will focus primarily on the following:
Ensure that Reservoir High School¿s vision, values and principles of teaching and learning are implemented and embedded across the school.
Lead the implementation of the Disability Inclusion program across the school.
Lead the development and implementation of contemporary curriculum and pedagogy, including our whole school evidence based, pedagogical approach, ¿Design for Learning¿ and the Reservoir High School Lesson Model.
Oversee the implementation of Tier 1 and Tier 2 Intervention programs across the school, liaising with the relevant key leaders to ensure they are meeting the engagement, learning and wellbeing needs of all students.
Lead the development of the school¿s Performance and Development culture through the implementation of the staff appraisal process.
The Disability Inclusion and Learning Interventions Leader will:
Leadership
Lead staff in the use of learning data to monitor individual student needs and address with appropriate interventions. Furthermore, identify students through available data who need a Disability Profile meeting.
Lead staff in the development of differentiated learning activities and assessments to cater for all students and ensure optimal learning growth.
Lead the systemic approach to high impact, responsive and sustainable Tier 1 Universal interventions to support the core learning of students.
Student Support and Planning
Work closely with the Disability Inclusion Manager in the development, implementation and evaluation of interventions targeted at PSD students across the school. Furthermore, ensure a smooth transition to high school for DI students by having effective arrangements in place for efficient transfer of information between services and schools.
Lead the support of students with a disability.
Capacity Building and Professional Learning
Develop Professional Learning across the school to provide teachers with the necessary knowledge and tools, including purposefully designed assessments, to identify student need and access to the most appropriate interventions.
Work collaboratively with the Induction Team to ensure that Disability Inclusion and Learning Interventions induction processes are supportive and comprehensive for newly appointed teachers and Graduate Teachers.

Compliance and Administration
Leading Teacher Duties
Lead and manage the implementation of whole-school improvement initiatives related to the school priorities.
Work closely with the Leadership Team and staff to implement and further develop the Learning By Design - a whole school evidence based, pedagogical approach to Teaching and Learning and embed the Reservoir High School Model.
Participate in School Leadership Team meetings and in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Annual Implementation Plan and School Strategic Plan
Lead the Professional Development Process (PDP) at the school through undertaking the role of Appraiser.
Contribute to the overall leadership and management of the school.
Contribute to the final form of any curriculum proposals for School Council consideration.
In collaboration with the Leadership Team provide support and conduct Professional Learning focused on Intervention strategies to address all levels of intervention and where relevant for wider groups of staff at Professional Learning activities and on Curriculum Days.
Participate in the selection process for Teaching, Leadership and Position of Responsibility panels.
Other duties as outlined by the Principal.
Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.
