The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Role
The Lead Network Architect provides enterprise technical leadership for the design, governance and evolution of network and cloud connectivity services across Schools, Early Learning and Childcare Centres (ELCC) and Corporate environments.
The Lead Network Architect:
* Defines the enterprise target state for network and cloud networking
* Owns reusable reference architectures and design blueprints
* Ensures consistent integration between on-premise, hybrid and cloud environments
* Aligns network architecture to identity, security and operational resilience frameworks
* Develops and maintains a 3-5 year network domain roadmap aligned to lifecycle, transformation and risk
* Ensures architectural integrity across highly distributed environments and diverse site types.
Provides architectural assurance for major transformation initiatives, ensuring network services are secure, resilient, scalable and aligned to enterprise strategy. Drives operational resilience by embedding high availability, failover, disaster recovery and zero-trust design principles into enterprise platforms.
Contributes to 3-5 year technology roadmaps, procurement strategy, managed service models and lifecycle planning, with a strong focus on reducing technical debt, improving service reliability and enabling secure cloud adoption.
