About us
The Portable Long Service Authority (the Authority) is a self-funded statutory body established to administer the Long Service Benefits Portability Act 2018. The Act, together with the Long Service Benefits Portability Regulations 2020 provide a Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme. The Authority plays an important role in allowing workers in the community services, contract cleaning and security industries to build up long service benefits based on time in their industry rather than with a single employer. We foster an inclusive and collaborative culture that celebrates achievements and allows everyone to contribute to our success.
About the role
The Authority is seeking a Lawyer to support a broad range of legal and regulatory matters within its growing team.
Reporting to the Managing Principal Lawyer, you will provide clear, practical advice to help the Authority meet its obligations under the Scheme. The role involves interpreting legislation, advising on compliance, and supporting operational decisions.
Working with a collaborative legal team, you will apply sound judgment and contribute to strategic outcomes in a dynamic regulatory environment. This is a role where your expertise will help ensure fairness, legal integrity, and risk-based decision-making.
This position is located in Bendigo but can also be carried out from our Melbourne office.
