About the Group
Schools and Regional Services (SRS) offers central, regional, and local expertise to enhance learning and development outcomes, supported by a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce. It comprises 17 areas within 4 regions, backed by 5 central office divisions, all collaborating to deliver improved outcomes for early childhood services, schools, communities, and learners, in line with Education State commitments. SRS regions serve as a bridge between the central office, schools, and service providers, ensuring smooth transitions for learners and achieving the department's ambitious targets. Each region includes divisions specialising in school performance, student wellbeing and early childhood support, working with area-based teams to tailor local interventions and practices. The 17 areas provide crucial insights into local trends and issues, facilitating effective policy and program development and driving child and learner outcomes across all services and programs.
This role is located in the Planning & Implementation Unit, Barwon Area, SWV Region, SRS.
About the Role
This position plays a key role in the coordination and provision of support to the regional Koorie Education workforce and multi-disciplinary Area teams within the Region. The occupant of the position will have a high level understanding of the current education and early childhood development reform agenda, particularly as it relates to Koorie children, young people and the broader Koorie community. The Koorie Education Coordinator will be an active member of the multidisciplinary Area Service Support Team and is required to develop strong relationships with the regional Manager, Koorie Education; schools, early years' service providers, central and local consultative groups, other community and government agencies and stakeholders.

The Koorie Education Coordinator demonstrates the public sector values and agreed performance standards whilst holding their self and others to account. Strong People Management and Stakeholder Management skills are expected in initiating and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will be required to collaborate with partners and peak bodies in the sector to develop tailored responses to identified needs whilst managing program key deliverables.
Qualifications and Experience
