About the Role
The Koorie Education Children Court Liaison Officer (Senior Community Services Advisor) is part of the Department of Education's regional workforce. The Koorie Education Children's Court Liaison Officer (KECCLO) supports the education engagement and participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people appearing before the Criminal Division of the Children's Courts across Victoria to improve their learning and wellbeing outcomes.
Attributes
Collaboration and engagement with key stakeholders, including schools, the Department of Education's Regional and Area workforces, the Children's Courts and other state government agencies is central to this role. The incumbent is responsible for supporting stakeholders to navigate the education sector, providing sound judgment and advice, contributing to best outcomes for young people. KECCLOs may be required to travel to other Children's Court locations in the region to provide referral assistance for young people appearing before the Court.
