About the Role:
The Knowledge Officer reports to the Knowledge Manager and is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and continuously improving processes and systems for enhanced knowledge flows to enable more effective interaction and organisational capability across the business.
You will contribute by:
- Respond to, investigate, and resolve system and service issues, including incidents, requests and advice. Ensure smooth collaboration with IT, Records and other teams and clear documentation to minimise business impact and avoid duplication of effort.
- Design and promote systems, practices, and cultural norms that support early and comprehensive problem definition across the organisation. Foster a shared understanding of complex issues that span teams and divisions—considering stakeholder dynamics and operational contexts—to enable more effective planning of business solutions and preventative strategies that logically support project initiation.
- Conduct strategic analysis of organisational patterns to uncover root causes and systemic inefficiencies. Provide high-level insights and recommendations to guide decision-making to improve organisational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Establish and lead a Centre of Excellence to enhance Energy Safe's corporate capabilities by implementing effective knowledge systems and practices, fostering communities of practice, facilitating workshops, and providing tailored guidance. This role will drive both cultural and operational improvements to embed continuous improvement and innovation across the organisation.
- Promote uptake of collaborative technologies, processes, and behaviours to facilitate the sharing of ideas and work-knowledge among internal teams and external partners, contributing to continuous process and service improvement in collaboration with the cybersecurity team.
To be successful, you'll have:
- Substantive experience working in similar role with exposure to establishing knowledge management practices.
- Experience in supporting and managing Microsoft 365 document management repositories and Purview information governance.
- Experience managing knowledge management systems, guidelines, and practices.
- Well-developed interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to liaise with staff at all levels including Executive Management, legal and trades.
- Well-developed planning and work management skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and respond to technical, structural, and cultural factors causing knowledge management issues.
- Demonstrated strong attention to accuracy and an eye for detail.
- Research, innovation, analytical and conceptual skills to identify and initiate improvements to knowledge management content, systems, and procedures. (Desired)
- Experience with GenAI and Knowledge Graph projects highly regarded. (Desired)
- Tertiary qualifications in knowledge management. Energy Safe Victoria may ask to sight original qualification documents as evidence of a qualification being recognised.
