About the Early Childhood Improvement Division
The Early Childhood Improvement Branch ensures a dedicated team supports early childhood services in Bayside Peninsula Area. The branch has multiple responsibilities, including supporting services with kindergarten programs and the implementation of the Best Start Best Life reforms. The Kindergarten Improvement Advisor will need to draw on experience and knowledge in an early learning context, administration of early childhood services and current pedagogical practices.
To be successful in this role you should have excellent interpersonal, influencing, and analytical skills. You will possess a strong understanding of quality early childhood pedagogical practices and a strong knowledge of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF). You will play a lead role in strengthening early childhood service collaboration, which will support services through a time of significant reform activity, help create a culture of trust and reflection, and improve transitions for children and families between early childhood services and school.
You will be required to provide high quality opportunities for early childhood professionals to work and learn together, using data to identify and reflect on local issues and problems of practice, and develop solutions that will lead to improved outcomes for children.
The ideal candidate will have strong project and program management skills and use their critical thinking and problem-solving skills to provide innovative solutions to complex issues. They will be able to build and develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively within a team. They will also have the skills to effectively analyse data and utilise this to inform decision making and be able to work proactively and independently within a dynamic work environment.
This position is located in the Basyide Peninusla Area (offices in Frankston or East Bentleigh) and part time (0.85 FTE).
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Desirable: Early Childhood or other relevant tertiary qualification
Desirable : Recent relevant experience in a leadership role within an Early Childhood setting or other clearly relevant transferable experience, knowledge and skills
