About Us:
The Corrections and Justice Services (CJS) group, comprising Corrections Victoria, Justice Health and Justice Services, plays an integral role in developing safer and more resilient communities and in delivering a trusted justice and community safety system.
Corrections Victoria is responsible for the implementation of policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.
As part of the CJS group, the DPFC is a 622 bed medium to maximum-security facility for female offenders located within the West Metropolitan Region, Department of Justice.
DPFC operates a Needs Based Precinct model, with prisoners accommodated in precincts aligned to their identified needs. DPFC has two new buildings as part of its specialist Health and Wellbeing Precinct, dedicated to supporting prisoners with mental health, cognitive impairment, physical disabilities and complex needs.
About the Role:
This position will be required to provide a range of administration support services to the industry and other vocational areas of the prison. This will include, but is not restricted to, being the initial contact for customers, management of written reports and presentations, Human Resource administrative tasks, managing the prisoner pay system, general administration minute taking and meeting attendance.
This position will entail direct prisoner contact and may involve weekend and possible public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the VPS agreement.
