About the Business Unit:
The Corrections and Justice Services (CJS) group, comprising Corrections Victoria, Justice Health and Justice Services, plays an integral role in developing safer and more resilient communities and in delivering a trusted justice and community safety system.
Corrections Victoria is responsible for the implementation of policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.
Corrections Victoria also sets strategy, policy and standards for the management of the state's system of correctional facilities whilst also developing programs for the management and rehabilitation of prisoners and the community-based supervision of offenders.
The Melbourne Assessment Prison (MAP) is a maximum-security facility providing state-wide assessment and orientation services for all male prisoners received into the prison system and is located within the North West Metropolitan Area, Department of Justice. MAP consists of the prison, the custody facilities at the County, Supreme and Appeal Courts and holding cells at St Vincent's Hospital for prisoners requiring outpatient medical treatment.
About the Role:
At the MAP, each Justice Officer role specialises in one of five streams – Property, Records, Human Resources, Finance & Stores and Administration. Over time, and with appropriate support and training, Justice Officers may be rotated between these streams to provide career enhancement opportunities to those staff, and operational flexibility to the prison.
As part of the Finance & Stores team, and under supervision, provide high quality financial, procurement, stores and canteen services and fleet and asset management in accordance with the Financial Management Act 1994, other government regulations and guidelines and MAP local operating procedures.

This position will require direct prisoner contact and may involve weekend and public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provison of the VPS Determination.
