Expressions of Interest Judicial Registrar - Commercial Division
(Five-year fixed term appointment)
Chief Judge Amanda Chambers seeks expressions of interest from suitably qualified persons for appointment as a Judicial Registrar of the County Court of Victoria.
Judicial Registrars are members of the Court, appointed by the Governor in Council on the recommendation of the Attorney-General. All expressions of interest are treated confidentially.
Position
The position available is in the County Court's Commercial Division.
The appointee will be responsible for the case management of matters in the Commercial Division. This will involve:
The appointee will also assist with procedural reform and work collaboratively with the Commercial Registry to ensure that its systems of work are efficient and effective.
The position requires a legally qualified individual (admitted for not less than five years) who has extensive experience in the practice of commercial law as well as an in-depth understanding of court processes and procedures. It also requires superior oral and written communication skills and an ability to make timely decisions according to law.
The position is based in Melbourne. While the position is full-time, appointments on a part-time or work-share basis will be considered.
