About the Role
The ITS Design Engineer position reports to the Team Leader, Asset Compliance within the Transport Systems Branch. This role is responsible for reviewing and providing expert advice on a range of internal and external project designs—spanning both minor and major works. A key focus will be on collaborating with stakeholders across the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP), as well as industry partners, to deliver outcomes that support the state’s transport objectives.
The ITS Design Engineer supports the Asset Compliance team by ensuring visibility of project deliverables and aiding delivery teams in achieving acceptance for ongoing maintenance. The role involves working with roadside electrical assets such as traffic signals, street lighting, and intelligent transport systems, while collaborating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders across DTP, MTIA, and industry partners.
This is a technically focused role, ideal for someone who is naturally inquisitive, solution-oriented, and confident in negotiating with stakeholders to drive positive project outcomes.
