About the role: 1 x Ongoing 1 x 12 months Fixed Term
Investigators play a key role in the resolution of complaints received by the office of the National Health Practitioner Ombudsman (NHPO).
As an Investigator in the Complex investigations team, you will be responsible for efficiently assessing complaints and conducting detailed investigations under direction from a Team Leader. The role is focused on looking for opportunities to achieve systemic improvements in the regulation of health practitioners.
The role is required to effectively communicate outcomes to complainants, Freedom of Information (FOI) applicants and other relevant stakeholders, both by telephone and in writing. You will also need a high level of resilience and a desire to help people navigate Australia's health practitioner complaint systems and FOI processes.
The role is focused on looking for opportunities to achieve systemic improvements in the regulation of health practitioners. This position requires legislative analyses and application, advanced written communication, and the ability to work with traumatic or distressing content while communicating with frustrated, rude or distressed complainants.
