About Us:
Corrections Victoria Intelligence Unit (CVIU) is the centralised intelligence unit which services the prison system and statewide services, community correctional functions, and Youth Justice. CVIU works closely with localised prison intelligence units located at the public and private prison facilities in Victoria. The services delivered by CVIU support Corrections Victoria and Youth Justice to provide safe and secure of correctional facilities, support the safety of staff and people in custody, and to support community safety and the effective management of offenders in the community.
About the Role:
The position of Intelligence Officer has a primary role of providing operational support for all intelligence related matters conducted by the CVIU. The position reports to an Intelligence Analyst - Team Leader and contributes to tactical, operational and strategic intelligence functions to inform stakeholders decision making.
The Intelligence Officer works closely with the other members of CVIU. They assist in delivering intelligence services to decision makers across Youth Justice, Corrections Victoria and its stakeholders in order to contribute to the security and good order of correctional facilities and support the effective management of offenders in the community. Some examples include producing intelligence to identify and prevent violence, the introduction and usage of contraband, serious incidents or unrest, and to assist in the safe management of offenders in the community.
This position is based primarily at Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct. There will be a requirement to attend other DJCS locations, including Youth Justice facilities and CVIU office locations in Ravenhall and the CBD.
