The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Intelligence Manager to provide a critical role at Metropolitan Remand Centre.
About the Business Unit
Corrections Victoria (CV) is responsible for the direction, management and operation of Victoria's prison system and Post Sentence Scheme. As a service agency within the Department of Justice & Community Safety (DJCS), CV develops and implements policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.
Corrections Victoria Intelligence Service (CVIS) is the overarching intelligence service for the Victorian correctional system. The CVIS is comprised of the primary intelligence unit known as the Corrections Victoria Intelligence Unit (CVIU), and localised Prison Intelligence Units (PIU) located at public and private prison facilities in Victoria. CVIU delivers intelligence services to decision makers across CV and its stakeholders to support the security and safety of correctional facilities and to support community safety and the effective management of offenders in the community.
About the Role
The Intelligence Manager, Metropolitan Remand Centre (MRC) has the primary responsibility for overseeing the delivery of intelligence services to support decision makers across MRC, CV, the department, and its key stakeholders.
The Intelligence Manager, MRC provides expert intelligence advice to MRC's Leadership Team, as well as strong leadership to intelligence practitioners. The Intelligence Manager, MRC must foster and maintain critical stakeholder relationships within the Department and across the criminal justice system. The position will contribute to the ongoing strategic planning, implementation, and improvement of the MRC's PIU and CVIU to meet the organisation's changing needs, with a focus on service excellence and community safety. The role also requires strong leadership to drive development of a varied workforce, strong governance, and the ability to drive continuous improvement.
