The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking x2 Intelligence Analyst's to provide a critical role within the Corrections Victoria Intelligence Unit.
About the Business Unit
Corrections Victoria Intelligence Service (CVIS) is the overarching intelligence service for Corrections Victoria (CV) and its stakeholders. The CVIS is comprised of the primary intelligence unit known as the Corrections Victoria Intelligence Unit (CVIU), and localised prison intelligence units located at the public and private prison facilities in Victoria. The Intelligence Analyst reports to an Intelligence Manager of CVIU and will contribute to tactical, operational and strategic intelligence functions.
About the Role
The Intelligence Analyst leads the collection, collation, recording and analysis of information, and develops this information for presentation to CV leadership, internal and external stakeholders and for dissemination to authorised persons and external agencies. Intelligence Analysts have the primary function of critical thinking and analysis, identifying and analysing trends, making inferences, and formulating technical intelligence products. This position supports Corrections Victoria and key stakeholders in maintaining the security and safety of correctional facilities, the safety and welfare of staff and people in custody, as well as informing the safe and secure management of offenders in the community.
The position is primarily based at Corrections Victoria Intelligence Unit offices at Statewide Services Building in Ravenhall and 50 Franklin Street, Melbourne, but will be required to work from other locations (for example prisons) if a business need arises. Specific positions work from Youth Justice facilities or post-sentence facilities in Ararat.
