The Integrity Investigations Lead is responsible for the assessment, triage and formal investigation of allegations of serious misconduct and potential fraud and corruption by WorkSafe Agents, Providers and Private Investigators (PI).
The role is also responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of WorkSafe’s Fraud and Corruption Control Policy and Guidelines and managing and enforcing the Code of Practice of Private Investigator including undertaking investigation and audits of PI providers.

About the opportunity
The Integrity Investigations Lead is responsible for the assessment, triage and formal investigation of allegations of serious misconduct and potential fraud and corruption by WorkSafe Agents, Providers and Private Investigators (PI).
The role is also responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of WorkSafe's Fraud and Corruption Control Policy and Guidelines and managing and enforcing the Code of Practice of Private Investigator including undertaking investigation and audits of PI providers.
Key accountabilities
- Lead and manage complex investigations into WorkSafe Agents and Providers regarding serious misconduct, fraud and corruption
- Conduct investigations of complaints made about WorkSafe PI Providers including postponing, suspending or revocation of registration
- Develop and prepare briefs of evidence to the required standard and attend court and give evidence
- Coordinate referrals to IBAC and other law enforcement agencies
- Lead or conduct audits or reviews of Private Investigator Providers at any time to ensure that the Code and all other requirements and obligations are being met
- Investigate breaches of WorkSafe Investigations and Intelligence standards, policy and guidelines
- Provide guidance and training across WorkSafe fraud and corruption controls to embed an integrity culture that has zero tolerance fraud and corruption
- Prepare reporting and analysis of assessment and investigation data, including outcomes and learnings, for communication to Executive Management and other business areas as required
About you
You have 5+ years' experience in an integrity investigation role, including conduct of interviews, document examination and report writing. Your organisation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills are highly developed. You are adaptable to change, with the ability to remain resilient in adverse situations.
More specifically you will have:
- Experience in conducting and managing complex investigations of serious misconduct, including but not limited to Code of Conduct breaches, conflicts of interest, fraud and corruption
- Expert level in conducting investigative interviews, document analysis, evidence matrices and report writing
- Demonstrated experience and skill in the interpretation of organisational policies, procedures and legislation concerning matters of misconduct and criminal conduct
- Ability to exercise judgement under pressure, to assess a situation objectively with the ability to identify key issues and resolve problems
- Highly developed integrity and ability to stand alone and give independent advice without fear or favour
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills including strong influencing skills
- Highly analytic and a strategic intellect
Qualifications
- Relevant technical qualifications including any or all of the following:
- Diploma/Certificate IV of Government
- Investigations (Fraud Control)
- Licensed Investigator/private enquiry agent Victoria
Desired
- Tertiary qualification in an associated field such as Criminology/Law
- Membership of a relevant professional development and governance bodies
