An integration aide, also known as an education support employee, plays a crucial role in supporting students with additional needs within a mainstream educational setting, working under the direction of teachers to facilitate learning and development.
Responsibilities encompass a range of tasks, including assisting with academic studies, supporting physical and emotional well-being, and fostering social skills.
Support for Students with Additional Needs:
Integration aides provide individualised support to students with intellectual, physical, or behavioral difficulties, helping them engage with curriculum and classroom activities. This can involve one-on-one assistance, small group work, and adapting materials or activities as needed.
Assisting Teachers:
Work closely with teachers to implement lesson plans and learning strategies, preparing learning environments, materials, and participating in planning and preparation sessions.
Communication and Collaboration:
Integration aides act as a link between teachers, students, and sometimes parents, communicating routine matters and supporting comprehension of tasks and information. They also collaborate with other support staff.
Behavior Management:
They address immediate behavioral presentations aligned with school policy and procedures and may receive training in managing challenging behaviors.
Administrative and Organisational Tasks:
This can include preparing teaching aids, organising resources, and coordinating the work of other aides.
Individuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.

The successful applicant must hold an employee WWCC - mandatory screening process in Australia, required for individuals engaged in child-related work , to assess their suitability to work with children and protect them from harm.
This role is part-time; 30 hours per week (8:30am - 3:00pm).

Lilydale High School offers a comprehensive curriculum for Years 7 to 12 in the following eight Key Learning Areas: English, Languages, Technology, Science, Mathematics, Humanities, Physical and Sport Education and the Arts. All Year 7 and 8 students study units from these core areas. Year 9 and 10 students select from a wide range of units offered by all areas of study within set requirements. VCE subject choice is decided by vocational or further study ambitions and is made from a comprehensive range of courses. Specific features of the curriculum include the provision of an accelerated program for academically gifted and talented students, and the study of VCE units for Year 10 students. The school also offers VET and VCAL courses. The current Charter Priorities are: Improved Student Outcomes including improved NAPLAN and VCE results; Improved Connectedness and Improved Transitions from Year 8 to 9 to 10.
