About the Role:
The Inspector, Building in Building Surveillance team is responsible for undertaking building inspections and audits to drive and ensure suitable levels of practitioner compliance with relevant building legislation, codes and Australian Standards, and the monitoring and enforcement of industry and practitioner performance in meeting compliance obligations.
The Inspector, Building will respond to consumer complaints and support the VBA's efforts to tackle complex building matters and regulatory priorities, including conducting multi-disciplinary inspections. The Inspector, Building will document and communicate compliance expectations to practitioners and exercise statutory powers in line with VBA policies and guidelines.

About the BPC
The Building & Plumbing Commission (BPC) is Victoria's new regulator for building and plumbing.
It brings together the Victorian Building Authority (VBA), Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria (DBDRV), and the domestic building insurance function of the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) into one organisation.
Key functions related to building and plumbing regulation will come together under one roof, including registration, inspection and compliance, practitioner discipline, dispute resolution, and domestic building insurance. These services will now part of the BPC and will be fully integrated over the next 12 months.
