About the Role
The role of the Innovation Lead combines technical innovation and a passion for creative and civic technology. While driving innovation internally, the role works externally to engage technologists, artists, designers and researchers with SLV LAB. This is State Library Victoria's digital prototyping and innovation lab, which fosters experimentation with technology to open access to the Library's collection, data and spaces – and exploration of library futures.
Reporting to the Head of Innovation and Research, and managing a Digital Engagement Producer, this position identifies and builds sector, research, and industry collaboration and partnerships, resulting in working demos, proofs-of-concept and testable prototypes. Overseeing the SLV LAB website and channels, the Innovation Lead also enables the creation of open-source publishing of high-quality code, and oversees development of written and AV documentation of R&D projects and experiments, events, talks and the Lab's podcast series.
