This is a fixed term/backfill role for the position of Inland Rail Project Coordinator, Natural Environment Programs, Hume Region.
The role involves providing high quality biodiversity advice on priority Victorian Government Infrastructure Projects. The successful candidate will lead service excellence focussing on relevant legislative requirements and provide input into the development of regional environmental policy and strategies relating to rail and transport corridor infrastructure as well as other major projects in Hume region.
This role requires strong problem-solving and negotiation skills to facilitate resolution of environmental advice and management of risks to biodiversity and works closely with the Planning and Environment Assessment team as well as external stakeholders.
This role also identifies and co-ordinates the delivery of capacity building and engagement activities with external partners and stakeholders, including the Australian Rail Track Corporation/ Inland Rail, local government, Traditional Owners and public authorities, as they relate to environmental protection and management within Hume Region.

This is a fixed term position available until 31 December 2025. The work location for this position is flexible within the Hume Region with hybrid work arrangements available.
