About the role
Reporting to the Principal Infrastructure Planner, the role will support coordinated place-based infrastructure planning for housing and jobs growth in Spatial Planning Program locations. This role will contribute to the preparation of community needs assessments and infrastructure plans for greenfield and established urban growth settings, working closely with planning teams, and infrastructure delivery Departments and agencies.

Position accountabilities
DTP is seeking a skilled professional to support the planning and delivery of transport and community infrastructure across Victoria. In this role, you will contribute to the preparation of Development Contributions Plans (DCPs) and Infrastructure Contributions Plans (ICPs), providing technical advice and analysis to project teams. You will prepare concise technical reports, maps, and diagrams, support infrastructure costing, and maintain key databases to monitor delivery.
You will work collaboratively with State Government agencies, developers, service providers, and local councils to facilitate the implementation of infrastructure planning outcomes. This includes providing evidence and data to support negotiations and preparing agreements such as GAIC and GAIC WIK. You will also contribute to strategic projects, the Annual Infrastructure Outlook, and the Annual Greenfield Delivery Report, ensuring planning and delivery aligns with community and development needs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, technical expertise in infrastructure planning, and the ability to provide high-quality advice and reports. This role requires a collaborative approach, attention to detail, and the ability to support complex projects that enhance Victoria’s transport and community infrastructure for sustainable development.Qualifications and experience
