The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking an Information Technology Compliance Officer, to provide a critical role within CV Intelligence Unit.
About the Business Unit
Corrections Victoria (CV) is responsible for the direction, management and operation of Victoria's corrections system, which incorporates prisons and Community Correctional Services. As a service agency within the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS), Corrections Victoria develops and implements policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour. In doing so, Corrections Victoria delivers a safe and secure corrections system that actively engages offenders and the community to promote positive behaviour change.
The Corrections Victoria Intelligence Unit (CVIU) is a business unit within the Security and Intelligence Division (SID) of CV. CVIU delivers intelligence services to decision makers across CV and its stakeholders in order to contribute to the security and good order of correctional facilities and support the effective management of offenders in the community. Corrections Victoria Intelligence Service (CVIS) is the overarching intelligence service for CV. The CVIS is comprised of the primary intelligence unit known as the CVIU, and localised prison intelligence units located at the public and private prison facilities in Victoria.
About the Role
The purpose of the Information Technology Compliance Officer is to assist in the effective and secure management of prisoner access to computer technology, the development and implementation of policies, programs and services that provide education around the safe and secure use of ICT. This position will continuously seek ways to improve services and be committed to delivering high quality outcomes.
The position of the Information Technology Compliance Officer will be responsible for providing project management assistance and support to the Digital Forensics team. You will establish and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, build trust through consistent actions, values and communication.
The location of this role is primarily based out of CVIU Headquarters at State-wide Services Building (SSB) Ravenhall and has requirements to attend other locations as needed.
