About the role:
This position is a Fixed-Term, Full-time role until 30 November 2026.
The Information Management Adviser is a member of a small team with a range of responsibilities related to data and information management. The role provides Information Management advice and services to both DH and DFFH as part of the Shared Services arrangement. The role has a set of core duties, such as assisting with the running of governance and reference groups but is mainly involved in supporting many of the projects and activities undertaken by the team.

About you:
The Department of Health is seeking a capable and motivated Information Management Adviser to support the effective delivery of information governance, policy development, and organisational improvement initiatives. This role requires a professional who can plan, analyse, and deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills, including the ability to identify key processes, tasks, and resources required to achieve objectives. They will prioritise effectively, monitor progress, and adapt plans as needed while developing systems and procedures that support efficient workflow and performance tracking. An ability to anticipate and address barriers will be essential.
The role requires well-developed problem-solving capabilities. You will gather and assess relevant information, engage with stakeholders, and analyse issues from multiple perspectives to develop practical and informed solutions. Sound judgement and the ability to draw clear conclusions from complex information are critical.
Strong self-management is essential, including the ability to prioritise competing demands, remain composed under pressure, and approach challenges thoughtfully. The successful applicant will demonstrate self-awareness, using their strengths effectively while managing areas for development and preparing for potential challenges.
You will also contribute to policy development by interpreting and applying existing frameworks, drafting policies based on research, and consulting with stakeholders to ensure practical and effective outcomes. Providing constructive feedback on policy proposals will form part of the role.
In addition, the position requires the ability to support and promote change initiatives. You will identify opportunities for improvement, clearly communicate the need for change, and remain resilient and solutions-focused in evolving circumstances.
