The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking an Industry Officer - Catering, to provide a critical role within Hopkins Correctional Centre.
About the Business Unit
Hopkins Correctional Centre is a medium security male prison facility focused on preparing prisoners for their transition back into the community.
About the Role
As an Industry Officer, you will be responsible for supervising a team of prisoners that work within prison industry and prison service areas. Service areas include catering, laundry, landmate, maintenance and environmental services. Industries operational at Hopkins Correctional Centre include metal fabrication and assembly, custom & number plates, signage, upholstery, timber.
In a vocational training environment, the Industry Officer will coach, mentor and motivate prisoners, placing emphasis upon individual offender management with a view to rehabilitation.
A Pre-Employment Health Assessment will be required for external candidates and non-custodial staff.
