About the Group
Schools and Regional Services (SRS) offers central, regional, and local expertise to enhance learning and development outcomes, supported by a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce. It comprises 17 areas within 4 regions, backed by 5 central office divisions, all collaborating to deliver improved outcomes for early childhood services, schools, communities, and learners, in line with Education State commitments. SRS regions serve as a bridge between the central office, schools, and service providers, ensuring smooth transitions for learners and achieving the department's ambitious targets. Each region includes divisions specialising in school performance, student wellbeing and early childhood support, working with area-based teams to tailor local interventions and practices. The 17 areas provide crucial insights into local trends and issues, facilitating effective policy and program development and driving child and learner outcomes across all services and programs.
This role is located in the Disability Inclusion Implementation Unit, Student Wellbeing & Engagement Branch, South Eastern Victoria Region, SRS. The Disability Inclusion unit works with Areas and schools on the implementation of Disability Inclusion and capability building in inclusive education practice.
About the Role
The Department of Education is committed to building a more inclusive education system, one that ensures every student with disability can thrive at school and in life.
The Inclusive Education Senior Practice Advisor will work collaboratively to understand the needs of schools across the region with regard to inclusive practices and will subsequently develop, improve, coordinate facilitation and promote participation in inclusive education professional learning including the Inclusive Classrooms professional learning program.
Further, the Inclusive Education Coach will champion the Inclusive Education agenda across the region through the provision of expert policy and program advice to schools and regional staff, with a focus on improving universal tier 1 and targeted tier 2 practices.
Working as part of the Disability Inclusion Branch, and in close collaboration with regional staff (including, but not limited to Area and Divisional staff, Inclusion Outreach Coaches and Senior Disability Inclusion Advisor) the Inclusive Education Coach will focus on:

This position requires a highly organised and professional individual who can manage stakeholder relationships and navigate complex program requirements. The ideal candidate will initiate and sustain effective connections with all stakeholders while collaborating well within the team. They should possess strong project management skills and employ critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to devise innovative solutions for complex challenges. Additionally, they must effectively analyse data to inform decision-making and demonstrate the ability to work proactively and independently.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential: Relevant tertiary qualification in teaching or allied health.
The successful applicant will be required to provide a current Working with Children Check or Vit registration.
Desirable: Strong stakeholder management
Experience with disability and inclusive education practices within schools
