The community of Greenvale has long-awaited its own a secondary school and is eager for it to be a success story: the secondary school of choice for local families and a school of which all in the community can be proud. The future of education for Greenvale is now here and students will be prepared for, and encouraged to dream, believe, and achieve.
Our school opened in 2022 and is growing steadily, living up to this ambition. In 2025, the College has Year 7 - 10 student cohorts. We will add a year level every year following. In 2025, the College adds the Year 10 cohort and commences our program planning for senior secondary options to ensure all students have excellent opportunities and outcomes after their schooling.
At Greenvale Secondary College, we focus on supporting individual students wherever they are at in their learning and social development, to ensure our students can feel successful and challenged to be their best. We offer extension and enrichment, as well as interventions and dedicated support for students who need it.

The College has a current student capacity of approximately 1100 students, however we will grow into the capacity steadily as we add each Year Level cohort.
SC1. Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the area of inclusive education and supporting learners with additional needs, including the capacity to work directly with students who have complex behavioural and learning needs
SC2. Extensive knowledge of and experience with neurodiverse young people
SC3. Sound knowledge and understanding of mandatory reporting procedures, confidentiality and student rights
SC4. Demonstrated organisational and time management skills leading to effective outcomes
SC5. Demonstrated ability in the use of ICT systems with a high level of computer literacy
SC6. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others and contribute to team objectives
SC7. Relevant qualifications in the areas of youth work, social work, disability, mental health or similar.
The Inclusion Youth Worker position works directly with individuals and groups of students who are supported through the PSD and DI programs to provide direct support or intervention to address barriers to engagement and learning.
The Inclusion Youth Worker will ensure students with disabilities and additional needs are engaged in education and meeting their learning goals. To do this they work collaboratively with the school¿s teaching team, wellbeing staff and allied health team. They also work collaboratively with services/teams outside school, which may include community/ health based services and external therapists.
It is expected that a person in this position will:

Liaise and consult with the Sub School Team including Assistant Principal, Student Services Manager and Year Level Leaders to assist in the implementation of the Schools Student Services Vision.
Demonstrate high-level communication skills and professional behaviour when interacting with parents, students and colleagues - including listening and speaking skills which result in people being at ease, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in writing
Demonstrate an appreciation and understanding of the learning, motivational and academic needs of students and a proven capacity to work effectively with them and the adults with whom they come into contact with, using appropriate problem solving techniques
Demonstrated personal qualities of confidentiality, empathetic understanding, warmth and genuineness, patience, tact, self-acceptance, openness, reliability and assertiveness, as well as being non-judgemental, supportive, positive, encouraging and respectful of the dignity of people

Specific Duties - Management
Responsible for the effective coordination, delivery, evaluation and refinement of student service
Ensure all programs are in alignment with the Colleges strategic plan
Prioritise the immediacy of short-term, long-term and periodic intervention of student support services in accordance with student need
Provide case management support to identified students, including attending individual care team meetings and other meetings as required.
Ensure that timely and regular Student Support Group Meetings are conducted in line with the development of Individual Education Plans
Ensure good communication is maintained between school and home.
Facilitating student participation in programs or activities that foster life, recreational skill and network building.
Build and maintain networks and partnerships with external agencies and stakeholders to achieve practical and meaningful social-emotional and wellbeing supports for young people.
Support the requirements of Disability Inclusion Program
Specific Duties ¿ Administration
Attend meetings (SSG) as requested, giving feedback on student progress.
Take minutes of all meetings.
Attend regular meetings as instructed.
Assist with various administrative tasks as directed.
Prep activities, visual aids and other material required by the students for their class.
Communication with and plan with teachers in relation to requirements of the students in the classroom
Refer students to specialised services when needed
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the College¿s policies and procedures, particularly relating to students who require case management
Develop and provide regular reports as required
Complete case notes on a daily basis.
Undertake special tasks or contribute to events as required
Pro-actively share information and identify and escalate any issues, difficulties or problems; follow up to ensure that any issues are resolved and communicated appropriately
Assist families with the NDIS application process and reviews
Assist in the development of safety plans and crisis plans.
Support the development of Behaviour Support Plans in collaboration with the sub school
Qualifications Required:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in areas of youth work, social work, disability, mental health or similar.
