About the Division
The Security and Emergency Management Division's purpose is to lead security and emergency management functions for the Department and lead and support educational communities to be physically and psychologically safe through the provision of expert advice and support services.

The Strategy and Logistics unit plays a pivotal role by supporting all units through comprehensive management of budgets, procurement, contract negotiations, and human resources, fostering a conducive work environment essential for the Security and Emergency Management Division's overall success and operational coherence.

This varied role is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in government and an opportunity to build your experience in a highly operational Division, with full training and support provided to help you succeed in the role.
The Incident and Operations Officer is a highly operational role, responsible for providing essential support across the division, including managing a variety of inboxes, responding to school and supplier queries, checking and processing invoices, and assisting with security administration tasks. The role is also responsible for assisting school staff over the phone with reporting incidents that may impact students or education continuity, and advising callers on essential actions that they must take in response to the incident as required by departmental policy or legislation. This role supports various units with operational tasks, contributing to the smooth running of day-to-day activities, and helping achieve the division's overall objectives.
The role may be required to work shift work, and be available outside of business hours to support the department and whole of government emergency management operations. This is anticipated to occur infrequently at times of significant emergencies.
