The Corporate Services Division is responsible for providing information services to the community and supporting the VCAA in finance, human resources, communications, governance, planning, legal services, information technology infrastructure, procurement, audit, risk and project assurance.
The VCAA Human Resources Unit is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of human resource services and payroll processes for the VCAA. This involves ensuring all legal and compliance obligations are met and that processes are managed to ensure data integrity and service quality.
Role Purpose
The HR Advisor contributes towards the effective service delivery of HR services, systems and processes. Through cross-functional collaboration, the incumbent provides high quality support, advice and services regarding HR policies, procedures and best practice.
The purpose of this role is supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Unit. Working closely with management across various Divisions, Units, and programs, you will develop and advise on HR best practice to support the growth of high-quality performance and development culture. You will be required to provide senior level advice and support on the interpretation of DET policy and practice, and complex HR issues to enable informed decision making.
A high level interpersonal and stakeholder management skill with internal and external stakeholders, together with an ability to multi task, have a flexible approach to work and the capacity to remain calm under pressure are essential attributes for the successful candidate

Qualifications and Experience
Essential: HR experience in payroll and recruitment
Desirable: Experience using eduPay, APS, SSMS and computer proficiency, customer service background
