This is an exciting and dynamic role whereby you will be responsible for the Health and Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) support to staff, management and Health and Safety Representatives across Victoria.
Some HSW issues may require interpretation of the Act, negotiations with the Health Safety staff representatives and making best practice recommendations.
The role also provides guidance to senior managers who are addressing significant OH&S issue to ensure the process is consistent with the Departments processes and procedures as well as the OH&S Act and Regulations.
As part of the role, you will be required to support development of OHS strategies to reduce the likelihood of injuries to staff. This work is facilitated through the development and management of fit for purpose OHS Management Systems and solutions and advice to comply with relevant legislation, standards, regulations, guidelines, departmental policies, and procedures.
A critical aspect of this role will be the ability to build productive working relationships with departmental staff, managers and external stakeholders including WorkSafe Victoria, Legal Services, the relevant unions and contract service providers.
