About the Branch
The Governance and Corporate Support Branch lead the provision of quality corporate support services and functions (including human resources and occupation health and safety, risk and audit, finance, fleet, accommodation and organisational strategic projects) which enable successful operation of VECRA. In addition, the Governance and Corporate Support Branch is responsible for the oversight, delivery and reporting of the compliance and audit obligations required of a statutory authority.
About the Team
The Human Resources team, within the Governance and Corporate Branch, is a specialised team responsible for delivering VECRA's core people and workplace functions. This includes HR policy and processes, end-to-end recruitment support, employee wellbeing and safety, organisational learning and development (L&D), workforce and position data, performance reporting, and the development and implementation of VECRA's Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) framework.
The team works closely with leaders across VECRA and the Department of Education to provide practical advice, maintain strong HR, OH&S and L&D governance and continuously improve how we support our people.
About the Role
The HR Advisor is key in supporting the delivery of VECRA's people functions as a new regulatory organisation. The role will have a strong focus on day-to-day HR, recruitment support, workforce data and reporting, working closely with the Department of Education and VECRA's managers to ensure people processes are delivered effectively and efficiently. This role will also contribute to L&D, OH&S and employee wellbeing activities, providing practical support and helping implement people, capability and culture initiatives across VECRA.

We are looking for someone who is practical, organised and approachable, with the ability to provide clear and responsive HR support to managers and employees. You will be comfortable working across a range of HR activities, managing competing priorities and working collaboratively with the Department of Education and colleagues across VECRA. You will have strong attention to detail, particularly in relation to recruitment, workforce data and reporting, and be confident working with information and HR systems. You will build positive relationships, use sound judgement and take initiative to resolve issues and improve processes. You will bring a genuine commitment to support VECRA's people and contributing to a positive and effective workplace.
