The Health Protection Manager will be a valued member of the Ovens Murray Public Health Unit, leading the Health Protection team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based responses that help keep communities across the Ovens Murray catchment healthy and safe from communicable diseases.
The Health Protection Manager provides operational and professional leadership to the Health Protection team, coordinating case, contact and outbreak management activities to achieve effective public health outcomes. Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, the role plans, implements and evaluates public health initiatives, disease responses and service improvement strategies.
The position is accountable for workforce leadership, service planning, quality and risk management, and compliance with relevant legislation, policies and public health protocols. The Health Protection Manager also promotes a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture, fostering innovation, continuous improvement and evidence-based practice to support the delivery of safe, effective and responsive public health services.
Applicants with extensive health protection experience, current AHPRA registration and demonstrated leadership experience are encouraged to apply.
