Make a genuine difference to health and wellbeing of Victoria's emergency service volunteers. Join VICSES Healthwatch and deliver meaningful, evidence-based wellbeing programs to the people who support communities in times of need. This is a dynamic, hands-on role, suited to confident facilitator who enjoy engaging with diverse groups and are passionate about preventative health and behaviour change
About the Role
In this role, you will be facilitating interactive wellbeing sessions and conduct health checks in a supportive, real-world setting. You will deliver a well-established and respected program, while contributing to wellbeing initiatives across VICSES.
This position requires confidence in group facilitation, sound profession judgement and the ability to work with sensitive health information. You'll also support continuous program improvement by identifying trends, risks and opportunities based on your on-the-ground experience
• Casual role with flexible hours based on program demand.
• Approx 4–6 hour shifts, 2–4 sessions per month (may vary)
• Occasional overnight travel to regional Victoria may be required.
• Sessions are primarily delivered in the evenings (Monday–Friday)
• Based at VICSES Headquarters (Southbank) with statewide travel
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver active, engaging, high-quality wellbeing sessions across Victoria
• Conduct health checks (e.g. blood pressure, cholesterol, blood glucose, fatigue and wellbeing indicators)
• Provide practical, evidence-based wellbeing advice and coaching
• Build strong rapport with VICSES members and create a safe, inclusive environment for participants
• Apply sound professional judgement when managing in relation to sensitive or confidential information
• Capture and report meaningful health insights to inform program improvements
• Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent, high-quality program delivery
What we're looking for
You are a confident and engaging facilitator who is motivated to make a positive impact on community health wellbeing
Essential requirements:
• Availability for weekday evening work (primarily between the times of 4pm to 10pm Monday–Thurs)
• Willingness to undertake occasional overnight travel across Victoria
• Current Victorian Driver Licence and confidence driving across metro and region areas
• Current Level 2 First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
• WWCC and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Tertiary qualifications (or currently studying) in a relevant field such as Health Science, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, Paramedicine, Exercise Physiology, Nutrition
• A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach
• Experience facilitating groups, workshops or programs (or related transferable skills)
• Ability to skilfully communicate and connect with diverse audiences
• A strong passion for community engagement and wellbeing promotion
• Collaborative approach to teamwork
• Professional judgement and confidence in managing sensitive discussions
