About the role:
The Head of Creative & Social leads the department's end‑to‑end creative and social media capability, integrating a modern internal creative studio with a high‑performing social media function and brand expertise. The role ensures the development, production and distribution of compelling, digital‑first content that extends the department's strategic narrative, improves customer experience and delivers measurable engagement across owned channels.
The role provides strategic leadership across creative production, visual design, video, photography, motion graphics, oversight of the Department's brand and affiliated brands and social media strategy, channel management, community moderation, analytics and optimisation. Working collaboratively across Communications and Engagement, the role ensures creative outputs and social distribution are tightly aligned, timely, on‑brand and responsive to government priorities, including emergency and crisis communications. The role also has responsibility to ensure created content, brand and social media activity complies to Whole-of-Victorian Government (WoVG) guidelines and standards.
