Position overview
The BPC is on a journey to embed a harms-based approach to regulation in all its activities. To best enable the embedding of a harms-based approach and support the VBA to deliver on the intent of its Regulatory Policy Statement, meet Better Regulation Victoria's principles for good regulatory practice and address the findings of the Weir report, the VBA is taking a strategic, coordinated, joined-up approach to its regulatory activities.
This role with lead the development and delivery of repeatable and configurable activities that address specific areas of harm across four stages (Design, Deliver, Review, Improve) including:
This role is pivotal in supporting the BPC to become a harms-based regulator. The remit spans the initial planning stages through to translating strategy and policy into cohesive delivery activities.

About the organisation
The Building & Plumbing Commission (BPC) is Victoria's new regulator for building and plumbing.
It brings together the Victorian Building Authority (VBA), Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria (DBDRV), and the domestic building insurance function of the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) into one organisation.
Key functions related to building and plumbing regulation will come together under one roof, including registration, inspection and compliance, practitioner discipline, dispute resolution, and domestic building insurance. These services will now part of the BPC and will be fully integrated over the next 12 months.
