The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Grants Officer to provide a critical role within Emergency Management Victoria.
About the Business Unit
Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) leads emergency management in Victoria by working with government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies. EMV is a statutory entity and is part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety (the Department). The Department, through the Secretary, employs EMV staff and provides corporate functions to EMV. EMV is led jointly by the Chief Executive (CE) and the Emergency Management Commissioner (EMC).
The Emergency Management Strategy and Capability Branch coordinates and drives emergency management strategy, policy, legislative reform, governance, capability, and risk and preparedness priorities to deliver economic, social, environmental and public safety outcomes. The branch coordinates input and responses to reviews and inquiries into the emergency management sector; delivers capability development programs to build sector wide emergency management capability to ensure a skilled, trained, resilient and inclusive workforce, including volunteers, to meet current and future challenges; and provides the risk and preparedness function to support emergency management preparedness through comprehensive risk management, planning, assurance collaboration and co-ordination. It also enables evidence-based decision making and planning through the delivery of strategic programs focused on critical infrastructure and data.
