About the role
As the Grampians Recovery Project - Senior Recovery Project Officer, you will deliver and coordinate environmental, cultural, and infrastructure recovery activities across the Grampians region following significant disturbance events to safeguard Aboriginal Cultural Heritage (ACH) values during the recovery process. Working in partnership with Traditional Owners, Registered Aboriginal Parties, and key stakeholders, the officer ensures regional operations plans and project activities integrate rigorous ACH protection measures, provides expert advice on identification, assessment, and protection of Aboriginal Cultural Heritage, and assists staff in achieving compliance with the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006.
The location of the role can be negotiated at the discretion of Parks Victoria.

About the Aboriginal Engagement and Partnerships Division
The Aboriginal Engagement and Partnerships Division provides strategic direction and culturally sound advice to guide Parks Victoria and empower staff to genuinely partner and meaningfully engage with Traditional Owners, including through joint management of parks and reserves. The Division also provides cultural heritage management advice and oversees the implementation of organisational wide strategies and frameworks to advance Aboriginal Self Determination; employment outcomes and cultural safety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees and Partners that Parks Victoria works with.
