Grade 2 Physiotherapist – Aged Care Research Role
About the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH):
Gain experience in a well-supported multidisciplinary team, working with a diverse range of acute and sub-acute clients across the Home First, Ambulatory & Complex Care service—including inpatient general medicine, Acute Care of the Elderly, RMH@Home subacute, GEM wards, and the offsite Bed-Based Transition Care Program.
This role includes supervising and educating students and junior physiotherapists, while offering leadership and professional development opportunities across Physiotherapy and Allied Health. You will be supported by experienced Grade 3 and 4 physiotherapists.
Your new role:
· Bring your excellent clinical skills to provide high quality patient assessment and management in the dual-task exergame research study
· Provide overall project management of the study with support from Gr 3 & 4 physiotherapists
· Contribute to project planning, compliance with ethics and governance, operation of the study, conducting intervention, and coordinating patient assessment data collection.
· Develop your leadership, project management and research skills
· Providing clinical cover outside the research study, including supervision and education of student and junior Physiotherapists, may be required
About you:
· Excellent Physiotherapy assessment and treatment skills and the ability to manage a variety of complex patients across the spectrum of aged-care patient management.
· You demonstrate well-developed communication, time management and organisational skills.
· Experience working in a hospital healthcare setting and providing clinical education to students and leading quality improvement projects.
· You have a current driver’s licence and are comfortable completing off site and/or home visit clinical work .
