The Role
The Governance Support Officer will assist the TAFE Governance team within the Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery to plan and coordinate communications and project activities, provide governance advice, and engage with internal and external stakeholders. You will support the preparation of briefs and reports, contribute to policy and project documentation, and assist in the analysis of governance information to inform advice and decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong written communication and analytical skills, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in public sector governance. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in governance and stakeholder engagement while contributing to key projects across Victoria's TAFE network.
Main Accountabilities
The Team
This role is part of the TAFE Strategy, Systems and Tertiary Governance branch within the Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery. The branch provides system leadership and management for the Victorian TAFE Network, driving initiatives that improve operating models, implement TAFE reform programs, strengthen outcomes for students and industry, and ensure the interface between government policy and sector outcomes is effectively managed. The team supports strategic governance advice and a strengthened assurance function across the VTN.

You will work collaboratively within a team environment and engage stakeholders to build partnerships that ensure active participation in decision-making processes. You will be able to deliver projects, monitor progress, and apply critical thinking to solve problems. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to understand perspectives and tailor messaging appropriately, are essential for success in this role.
