The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a General Manager Assessments Applications and Panel Secretariat to provide a critical role at Offender Services, Post sentence Branch.
About the Business Unit
Corrections Victoria operates Victoria's adult corrections system and manages 13 public prisons, one transition centre, and oversees three privately operated prisons. It ensures prisoners are safely and securely contained and aims to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.
The Offender Services Division of Corrections Victoria is responsible for providing best practice interventions which aim to reduce the risk of reoffending including quality assurance systems for risk assessment and case management, offending behaviour programs, and transition and reintegration supports. The Offender Services Division has responsibility for the post-sentence supervision scheme and is also responsible for the management for post sentence facilities.
About the Role
The General Manager, Assessment, Applications and Panel Secretariat is responsible for oversight and management of three functional teams within the branch:

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Knowledge of the Serious Offenders Act 2018.
- Demonstrated experience in providing leadership within a highly complex service delivery area within a legislative framework.
- Experience in the management of high risk and/or sexual offe nders, and/or experience in working in a correctional environment, would be an advantage
Qualifications
- There are no mandatory qualifications for this role, however qualification/s in legal, public administration or other relevant discipline is highly desirable.
