The Data and Digital (D&D) division sits within Investment and Technology. Data & Digital provides the department with operational excellence for data & digital enabled services and project execution for large scale design and uplift initiatives.

About the Role
This is a Fixed Term Opportunity Until 30 June 2027
The GIS Specialist position sits within Spatial Services and is responsible for the creation, maintenance and delivery of high-quality geospatial outputs that support transport and planning initiatives across the department. The role requires proficiency in GIS software and spatial data management to produce maps, spatial analysis and reporting outputs that enable evidence-based decision-making. Working collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders, you will apply technical expertise to translate complex spatial requirements into clear, accurate mapping outputs and maintain the integrity of spatial data.

The DTP is seeking a skilled geospatial and data professional with strong applied capabilities in GIS, data analysis, spatial databases, and digital technologies, including Python and SQL. The role involves delivering high-quality spatial insights, solving complex data problems, and supporting system improvements, data integration, and technology change initiatives. A customer-focused, innovative mindset and the ability to think critically, ensure data integrity, and work collaboratively are essential.
