Northeast Health is looking to recruit a nephrologist (0.1 EFT) to provide medical support to its 7 chair dialysis unit. The unit operates 6 days per week and the successful applicant would be expected to provide support as appropriate to dialysis nursing staff and the medical registrar allocated to dialysis. We would expect this role to also assist with pathway and protocol development to better manage our dialysis patients both within the community and inpatient setting. You will also provide phone support for complex renal patients within the admitted service within the agreed hours.
In addition the applicant would need to attend a renal outpatient clinic 2 sessions per month. This clinic would be staffed by a general medicine advanced trainee and you would be required to provide appropriate supervision in addition to your own clinical load.
We would expect that the successful applicant would be available by phone Monday to Friday 0800-1700 and would attend NHW at least 1 full day per fortnight.
Priority will be given to applicants looking to relocate but the role can suit applicants willing to commute on a regular basis. Initial accommodation support can be negotiated with successful applicants. The role can be split if a single applicant is not successful. Opportunities in general medicine also exist for successful applicants looking for a larger clinical load. Those finishing their clinical training in 2025 are also encouraged to apply
The successful applicant will enjoy the benefits of competitive remuneration and full salary packaging benefits that are available to Victorian Public Health Sector employees.
