The Position
This is an exceptional opportunity to support the CFA to continue to evolve, improve and innovate to provide a world-class fire and emergency service, now and in the future.
As the General Manager Communications and Stakeholder Relations (GM) you will promote a whole-of-organisation approach to strategic communications and stakeholder relations that best serves the needs of volunteers, staff, and external stakeholders.
Reporting to the Group General Manager Strategic Services, the GM is responsible for leading and managing the full range of external and internal communications, marketing, digital and traditional media, stakeholder relations, and public affairs functions. It has responsibility for driving innovation in communications channels and programs across CFA.
The role has two direct reports and oversees a cross functional team of approximately twenty highly motivated professionals largely based at CFA Headquarters (Burwood East).
Success requires an accomplished executive who is capable to work with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Officer, the Board and the Executive Team to develop strategic communication priorities, manage brand and enhance engagement with internal and external audiences.
Extensive experience and a record of achievement at a senior level in a broad range of communication disciplines within a public sector context is sought.
