1. Demonstrated sound and safe working knowledge of hand and power tools, and the ability to efficiently undertake routine tasks, repairs and maintenance to the interior and exterior of buildings and ground works within the school.

The Gardener and Maintenance person will work collaboratively and in a professional manner to ensure that the environment is safe and well maintained. The Gardener and Maintenance Person is responsible for the regular maintenance, upkeep and ongoing improvement of school facilities and grounds across the college.
Reporting directly to the Facilities Manager, the Gardener- Maintenance Person works within a small team to ensure that the facilities meet the ongoing needs of the whole college.
This position requires the Grounds - Maintenance Person to drive the school bus each day - a bus licence is essential or will be required to attain at the school expense.
This position requires attendance for duty during all school holidays and attracts 20 days annual leave per year pro rata.
Maintenance jobs include but not limited to aspects of joinery, carpentry, plumbing, repairing doors, locks, curtains, lights, plant, equipment and other tasks that may arise.
Maintain grounds and open spaces including but not limited to gardens, including weeding, fertilizing, planting and pruning.
Liaise with tradespeople and contractors as required.
Cyclical preventative maintenance jobs as scheduled, including gutter and roof cleaning and painting.
Assist with the moving of furniture and equipment as required.
Follow all Health and Safety policies and procedures. Report all known and observed hazards to the Principal.
Participate as a team member and perform hands on set ups (events and functions)
Clear external drains, sweep paved areas and ensure that litter is removed from garden areas.
Maintain garden equipment appropriately store garden implements and chemicals.
Maintain the outside bins.
Daily bus run of students.
Other duties as required.
Current Drivers Licence and Working With Children Check required.
